Our manufacturing technologies flexibly meet needs across a broad sector from mobile phones to industrial equipment.

The HAST (hyper amorphous silicon TFT) liquid crystal displays that we manufacture at Ortus Technology Kochi have the light weight and thin profile of conventional LCDs while adding eye-pleasing high resolution and high brightness, along with the impressive features of high density and low power consumption.
HAST LCDs are optimal display devices for personal multimedia products, and are used for mobile phone screens, digital still and video camera displays, and a wide range of other products. Recently we developed “Blanview” LCDs using proprietary new technology to greatly improve viewability outdoors in daylight. These new LCDs are being used in the operation panels of industrial equipment and devices and hold great promise for application in a truly extensive range of new fields.
How the liquid crystal display works
Liquid crystal displays feature two sheets of glass with polarizer that allow light polarized in one direction to pass through orientation films, liquid crystal and a color filter. The color filter consists of the three primary colors of red, green and blue.
Liquid crystal molecules to which a voltage is applied acts as a switch to either block light or allow light to pass through producing fine shadings of color pixels. These pixels are spread over the entire screen to display images in color. TFT LCDs are color LCDs that can display images more clearly by using a structure that assigns one transistor to each pixel.
